Dear Cushing’s Help Organization Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
My name is Aisha Adamu Fari, a public health practitioner from Nigeria. Earlier this year, on April 8th, 2025—Cushing’s Awareness Day—I led a public awareness campaign titled “Walk Against Cushing Syndrome” in Nigeria. This initiative was inspired by my personal experience with the condition and aimed to increase public understanding, reduce stigma, and give visibility to those living with Cushing Syndrome and other rare diseases in underserved communities.
I was deeply honored and encouraged when Cushing’s Help previously shared my advocacy work. Your recognition not only amplified my message but also strengthened my resolve to continue raising awareness on a larger scale. I remain sincerely grateful for the platform and support your organization provides to the global rare disease community.
Building on this momentum, I am currently in the process of formally registering a global nonprofit organization: the Global Union for Awareness and Research on Rare Diseases (GUARRD). Our mission is to promote awareness, advance research, and advocate for individuals affected by rare diseases—particularly in low-resource settings.
As part of our global registration process, I am reaching out to respectfully request your informal support in the form of technical guidance, informational resources, or advocacy strategies that could support our development. Additionally, any informal acknowledgment of this communication, or an expression of openness to future collaboration, would be immensely valuable in demonstrating GUARRD’s potential for global engagement and partnership.
I truly admire the essential work the Cushing’s Help Organization continues to do in the rare disease space, and I would welcome the opportunity to stay connected as GUARRD grows.
Thank you for your kind consideration and continued advocacy.
Warm regards,
Aisha Adamu Fari
